Michelle Schneider

There is no greater fulfillment for me than observing a family that has learned to connect in different ways and work together to overcome struggles in life. I strive to support families in this work so they can thrive together! I am honored to walk alongside you and your family to build a stronger connection.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the State of Washington (LF60584943).  I received a Master’s of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Seattle Pacific University, Seattle, Washington and a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology from the University of Minnesota. I am also certified by the State of Washington as a Child Mental Health Specialist (CMHS) and a Mental Health Professional (MHP). I have received advanced training as an Infant Mental Health (IMH) therapist.

I am a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) as well as the Washington Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (WAMFT).

My experience is in working with children from birth to 18 years, and their families. I work from a systemic perspective, involving the whole family in healing and change. Working from a strengths-based perspective, I focus on building connections to heal the family and create change. I believe in utilizing the skills and knowledge you already embody as a family to build on and strengthen.  When we feel capable in ourselves and supported by other we can thrive. Solution Focused Therapy, Infant/Parent Psychotherapy, and Attachment Theory all help guide my work with families. I am also trained in Parent-Child Interactive Therapy (PCIT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Incredible Years: Babies Parenting Group.

When I am not in the therapy office I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, exploring the city and the great outdoors.  I am an avid plant and book lover and can be found relaxing with a cup of tea and a good book surrounded by green plants.  I also love to explore food and find great pleasure in cooking elaborate meals.
